HEBERGER Constructs New Training Laboratory Building for BASF in Ludwigshafen
With the construction of a modern laboratory building on Brunckstraße, the Heberger Group is supporting BASF in expanding its training facilities and, together with the chemical company, setting a clear signal for the future.
As general contractor, Heberger is responsible for the turnkey realization of the approximately 4,300-square-meter, 13-meter-high building, which will provide around 100 science apprentices with optimal conditions for learning and research starting in 2027.
“The greatest challenge lies in the tight schedule and the coordination of various trades involved in such a complex laboratory project,” explains Project Manager Konstantin Merk from Heberger. “Just the foundation alone includes 60 tons of steel and 550 cubic meters of concrete.”
Located outside BASF’s main site, the new training center will also include spaces for school events and job interviews. In doing so, BASF is not only creating additional capacity but also establishing a learning environment that sends a strong message for the entire region.
Completion is planned for the first quarter of 2027, in time for the start of the training year in September. With this project, Heberger once again contributes to the development of sustainable and future-oriented educational infrastructure in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region
