Water pipeline

Water march

Mayor Martin Hebich (CDU) and Stefan Butsch (SPD), deputy mayor of Bobenheim-Roxheim, joined forces on Friday to symbolically put the drinking water pipeline of the municipal utilities laid west of road 523 into operation. The pipeline runs along the farm road.

The self-sufficient supply of the Old Rhine community via the new pipes has already been secured since December. The laying of the almost 3,5-kilometer-long polyethylene main water pipe with a diameter of 25 centimeters between Frankenthal and Bobenheim-Roxheim cost around two million euros.

The work would have presented Stadtwerke with a number of challenges. For cyclists, for example, a safe crossing aid had to be provided on the L 523 because of the closure of the farm road. In order to keep the disturbances for agricultural traffic as low as possible, HEBERGER decided, after consulting the experts, not to opt for an open construction method, but for laying by means of a flushing hole. Lord Mayor Hebich spoke of a basic supply project and remarked that the construction had been carried out silently and thanked all the companies involved.
