Core renovation
Core renovation of a wine cellar in Mußbach
The wine village Mußbach forms a picturesque backdrop for the estate of the Weinmanufaktur Weinbiet. No matter where you stand or walk, the 554 m high mountain Weinbiet is omnipresent. Behind it, the seemingly boundless Palatinate Forest invites you to explore on foot or by bike. Here, at the donkey skin in Palatine Mußbach, grapes and humans come together. The street in which the winegrowers’; cooperative Weinbiet is to be found was also named after the pasture of the grey animal.
If you walk along them, you will come across the wine cellar, the winegrower’s room and the wine press house of the cooperative. The most important grape variety of the farm is the Riesling.
The corresponding vault from 1870, which was rebuilt and extended several times in the following years, was gutted and renovated by HEBERGER in 2018/2019. The vaulted cellar was originally built in 1870, in 1902 the first wines of the Weinbiet manufactory were pressed here. A year ago, the basement looked like a concrete silo. A good 12 months ago, 700 tons of reinforced concrete were still found where the manufactory’s best wines are today, which had to be demolished with a special demolition robot and removed from the vault by hand. After the extensive renovation, we can now proudly toast the vaulted cellar dedicated to the wine quality pioneer Philipp Bassler. The inauguration was attended by guests, customers, business partners and prominent personalities from the region.
