At one of the largest construction projects in Ludwigshafen on Monday, 23. October, topping out ceremony celebrated: the Christian Weiss housing estate in Ludwigshafen. Since Monday, the topping-out crown has been hanging over the Christian Weiss housing estate in the southern part of the city. 17 months after the ground-breaking ceremony in May 2016, the shell of the new development on the site between Saarland-, Sebastian-Bach- and Kurfürstenstraße has been completed. The first tenants will move into the total of 153 apartments in the third quarter of 2018.

Since May 2016, the new Christian-Weiß-Siedlung has been under construction in Ludwigshafen’s South district. The real estate company GAG and the Karlsruhe-based company inwoca are building a total of 164 apartments. On some buildings the facade is already finished, others are still scaffolded. Among others, the mayor Wolfgang van Vliet, Christoph Heller (head of the town), Klaus Dillinger (head of the building department), Michael Veiga (inwoca), Ernst Merkel (GAG board) and Abdulkadir Bayram (foreman, HEBERGER) celebrated. Around 150 guests attended the topping-out ceremony. On the site of the blocks of houses demolished in 2008 in Ludwigshafen-Süd, a total of four out of five components have so far been erected. The building complex is in memory of the former mayor of Ludwigshafen, Christian Weiß, who reigned from 1920 to 1930.
