Schifferstadt / Ludwigshafen, June 25, 2026 – A major construction project was successfully completed today with the official opening of the new building for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for the Palatinate region at Ludwigsplatz in Ludwigshafen. The modern new building was realized by a joint venture between HEBERGER Hoch-, Tief- und Ingenieurbau GmbH and Implenia Hochbau GmbH.

Numerous guests from the business, political, and social sectors attended the inauguration, including Michael Ebling, the Minister of Economic Affairs for Rhineland-Palatinate, and Prof. Dr. Klaus Blettner, the Mayor of Ludwigshafen. As part of the festivities, the IHK General Assembly also convened in the new building for the first time.

For the HEBERGER Group, this project marks another milestone in the field of sophisticated building construction. “We are proud to have realized this key regional construction project on schedule and within the planned budget, together with our partners,” said a spokesperson for the HEBERGER Group.

The new building replaces the former structure dating back to the 1950s and offers modern workspaces and event facilities across approximately 7,500 square meters of usable area. In total, the building provides around 150 workstations and seating for approximately 860 seminar participants. In addition to the IHK Palatinate itself, the chamber’s continuing education center is also housed in the new building, creating valuable synergies.

During the construction phase, special emphasis was placed on sustainability and future-proof energy standards. Both the technical equipment and the choice of materials meet modern requirements for efficient and responsible construction.

With a gross investment volume of around 59 million euros, the project was financed entirely without public subsidies. In his address, IHK President Albrecht Hornbach particularly commended the collaborative partnership among all parties involved, as well as the swift and smooth execution of the project. From the region’s perspective, too, the new building sends a strong signal: the new IHK facility creates a central hub for exchange, professional development, and economic growth. For the HEBERGER Group, the project once again underscores its expertise in delivering complex construction projects as well as its strong ties to the region.
