Intergenerational living
Completion of the construction work on the “Tortenstück” of CWS in Ludwigshafen
The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Christian-Weiß-Siedlung took place on 20. May 2016. The reference completion for component 2 was completed at the end of 2017/beginning of 2018. The current construction costs amount to a total of 37 million euros.
With GAG Ludwigshafen and inwoca, a daughter of the company Familienheim Karlsruhe, two investors have been found who want to implement the plans for the “Tortenstück” with the involvement of the city.
GAG will construct components 2 and 5 with a total of 86 rental apartments. On building section 2, 58 apartments are being built under the title “Intergenerational living”. The design by the AGP/Architrav office of Eberhard Fichter from Karlsruhe takes up the urban planning traces and architectural references to the historical model in a particularly concrete way and translates them into a contemporary design language and contemporary apartment floor plans. A senior citizen residential community is also planned on the fourth floor of the central building section 2.
